AAU Region 2 Championship

The Phoenixville Track Club capped off our most successful season in team history at the AAU Track & Field Region 2 Championship/National Qualifer Meet at Millersville University over the weekend. There were multiple medal and ribbon winning performances (Top three received medals, top 4 through 8 received ribbons) as well as new team and age group records set at this highly competitive meet that featured over 50 teams from the Mid-Atlantic 8 Region that includes the Philadelphia Metro area, South Jersey, Delaware, and Northern Maryland.

Girls 8 and Under – Mya Ervin placed 14th in the 100 meters. She had to run in a torrential downpour on Friday but still gave an outstanding effort. Keira Hyatt placed 9th in the 800 just off her own age group record running 3:33.93.

Girls 9 years old – Ivy Grant lead this group advancing through the prelims and into the finals of the100 meters taking a silver medal running a personal best 15.79. Ivy also made the 200 meter final placing 4th with another personal best of 33.70. In addition, Ivy was the 2nd leg of the bronze medal winning girls age 9-10 4×100 relay team. Gabrielle Williams also advanced from the prelims to the finals in both the 100 and 200 meters placing 8th in both events running personal best times. Gabrielle was also the lead off leg on the 4×100 relay. Chloe Blackington gave a strong effort in the 800 meters placing 10th.

Girls 10 years old – Aryn Epps advanced to the finals of the 100 meters placing 6th in a very competitive group smashing her own age group record at 14.89 which is faster than our boys 9-10 record in this event which has stood since 2017. Aryn was also 14th in the 200 meters and the anchor leg of the bronze medal 4×100 girls age 9-10 4×100 meter relay. Sarah Kuehner was the 3rd leg of the 4×100 meter relay. The girls age 9-10 4×100 relay set a new age group record running 1:05.50 winning bronze!

Boys 10 years old – Cameron Hyatt placed 10th in the 800 meters running 2:54.42. Cameron also also placed 14th in the 100 meters. Karter Latimore gave a great effort jumping from the 4 foot board in the long jump placing 12th

Girls 11 years old – Maggie Shaner used a great kick at the end of the race to break her own age group record in the 800 meters running 2:45.95 to place 7th in an extremely competitive field.

Boys 11 years old – Patrick Gail advanced from the prelims to the finals of the 100 meters running a personal best 15.08 to place 8th. Kandrick Latimore placed 13th in the 100 meters and 10th in the long jump despite having to jump from the 8 foot board.

Girls 12 years old – As was the case all season, this group had the most overall depth. Ellie Schaible ran a season best 12:59.88 in the 3000 meters to win a bronze medal. Ellie was also 6th in the 1500 meters and 10th in the 800 meters. Clarie Kline was 7th in the 1500 meters and ran a personal best 2:54.94 in the 800 meters to finish 9th. Mya Shoemaker advanced from the prelims to the finals of the 100 meters finishing 8th at 14.21. Mya was also the anchor leg of the silver medal winning girls 11-12 4×100 relay. Brooke Irons was 11th in the 100 meters and lead off leg for the 4×100 relay. Sarah Harmdierks placed 13th in the 100 meters and was the 3rd leg of the 4×100 relay. Isla Sillup was the 2nd leg of 4×100 meter relay. Annalise Delp finished 12th in the 800 meters. The girls age 11-12 4×100 relay set a new age group record running 59.07 winning silver!

Girls 13 years old – Kate Warman advanced from the prelims to the finals in the 200 meters and once again broke her own team and age group record running 27.46 to finish 5th in a very competitive field. Kate also anchored the girls age 13-14 4×100 relay along with Elana O’Neill (lead off), Ana Eichenwald (2nd) and Emma Seddiki (3rd) which set a new team record at 57.49 finishing 9th.

Boys 13 years old – Jackson Reever threw personal best of 28-00.50 in the shot put to advance the finals and place 5th.

While the Phoenixville Track Club will not be participating in AAU Junior Olympics in Houston, Texas from July 22nd though August 2nd, the following athletes qualified for this national meet based on their top five finish at the AAU Regional:

Ivy Grant – Girls age 9: 100 meters, 200 meters, and girls 4×100 relay

Ellie Schabile – Girls age 12: 3000 meters

Kate Warman – Girls age 13: 200 meters

Jackson Reever – Boys age 13: Shot Put

Girls 9-10 4X100 meter relay (Gabrielle Williams, Ivy Grant, Sarah Kuehner, Aryn Epps)

Girls 11-12 4X100 meter relay (Brooke Irons, Isla Sillup, Sarah Harmdierks, Mya Shoemaker)

Suburban Developmental League Championship

The Phoenixville Track club made history at the Suburban Developmental League Championship Meet on Saturday, May 24 with the 11-12 girls becoming our first team to win the championship meet. This group had eight girls contribute to our 79 points along with several other great performances to beat our closest competitor by 15! There were also many other outstanding medal and top 8 individual efforts at this meet.

Girls under 8: Keira Hyatt won silver in the 800 meters, setting at new age group record of 3:35.70. She also placed 6th in the 400 meters setting another age group record at 1:32.09. Keira was also part of the bronze medal winning 4×100 relay. Mya Ervin placed 6th in the 100 and meters 200 meters, 7th in the long jump, and anchored the 4X100 relay. Avery Campell was 6th in the long jump and was part of the 4X100 relay. Ivy Shilling was 9th in the 100 meters, 200 meters, the lead off leg for the 4X100 relay.

Boys under 8: Philo Kampf won silver in the long jump.

Girls 9-10: Aryn Epps won silver in the shot put. She was 5th in the 100 meters and anchored the gold medal winning 4X100 relay. Kennedy Watson placed 7th in the long jump, 9th in the 400 meters, and was part of the 4X100 relay. Madison Hansen was 8th in the long jump and 400 meters. Sarah Kuehner was 9th in the 100 meters and part of the 4X100 relay.

Boys 9-10: Cameron Hyatt won silver in the 800 meters shattering his own age group record at 2:49.60! He also placed 6th in the 200 meters, and 7th in the 400 meters. Clayton Grant won silver in the shot put with Julian Allen winning bronze. Note that last week Clayton’s throw of 19’5 set a new age group record breaking a mark that had stood since 2018. Kater Latimore placed 5th in the long jump.

Girl’s 11-12: Winning the age group team title, this group had many outstanding performances. Mya Showmaker won gold in the long jump at 12-4 just missing the age group record by 2 inches. She also won bronze in the 100 meters, placed 6th in the 400 meters and anchored the gold medal 4X100 relay which set an age group team record of 59.67 despite limited time practicing handoffs. Isla Sillup won bronze in both the 200 meters and 400 meters, placed 5th in the long jump, and was part of the winning 4×100 relay. Sarah Harmdierks won bronze in the long jump, placed 4th in the 100 meters, and 5th in the 400 meters. She was also part of the 4×100 relay. Maggie Shaner won bronze in the 800 meters setting a new team record at 2:50.50. Brooke Irons placed 6th in the 100 and 200 meters and was part of the 4×100 relay. Ellie Schaible placed 8th in the 1600 and 800 also placing 6th in the long jump. Claire Kline placed 6th in the 1600. Avery Hansen and Sela Kampf tied for 8th in the long jump.

Boys 11-12: Kandrick Latimore placed 4th in the long jump just missing a bronze medal by 4 inches. Jack Guild was 7th in the 1600 meters and 8th in the 800 meters. Noah Schilling and Patrick Gail also had good efforts in a very tough 100 and 200 meter field. Rober Nestor was the sole 400 meter runner in this age group.

Girls 13-14: Kate Warman won silver in the 100 meters and 200 meters setting a new team and age group record at 27.98! Kate also anchored the silver medal winning 4×100 relay. Elena O’Neill, Emma Seddiki, and Mila Kruk were also part of the 4×100 relay.

Boys 13-14: Jackson Reever won gold in the shot put. He also placed 8th in the 400.

Boys 15-16: Nick Raddatti won silver in the 200 meters setting a new team record in 24.23. He also won silver in the 400 in 55.22 which also broke his own team record.

Dasher’s Lentz Memorial Invitational

The Phoenixville Track Club had another very strong showing at the Dasher’s Lentz Memorial Invitational on Sunday. Several team and age group records were broken:

Under 8 Girls: Keira Hyatt, Ivy Schilling, and Charlotte Orme all had personal best times to finish in the top 10 of the 100 meters. Charlotte and Ivy also finished in the top 10 in the 200 meters. Ivy placed 5th in the 400 meters.

9-10 boys: Cameron Hyatt placed 1st in the 800 meters at 3:01.46. He also placed 3rd in the 400 meters in 1:14.44, and 5th in the 100 meters in 15.28 only .07 seconds from the age group record. Luke Campbell placed 1st in the long jump at 11’11 and 4th in the 200 meters 32.57 setting a new age group record! Arther Resch placed 3rd in the 1600 meters at 7:06.41. Karter Latimore finished 9th with a PR of 15.62 in the 100 meters, 6th in the 200 meters with another PR of 33.95, and 5th in the long jump. Clayton Grant won the shot put at 19’5, just .55 inches from the age group record with Julian Allen placing 2nd at 17’3.

9-10 girls: Aryn Epps won the shot put at 17’6.5. She also placed 3rd in the 200 meters at 32.21 and 4th in the 100 meters setting a new age group records in both events. Madison Hansen finished 9th in the long jump at 7’10

11-12 boys: Kandrick Latimore won the long jump at 13’1.5. Noah Schilling broke into the top 10 in the 200 meters at 31.60.

11-12 girls: Once again this was our strongest group of the meet. Mya Shoemaker won the 100 meters in 14.22 breaking her own age group record. She also placed 3rd in the 400 meters at 1:08.72 and 6th in the 800 at 3.03.30. Isla Sillip won the 200 meters in 29.79 breaking her own age group record. Isla also finished 2nd in the 100 meters at 14.42 and 2nd the 400 meters in 1:06.92 setting a new team and age group record! Maggie Shanner placed 1st in the 800 meters in 2:54.78. Sarah Harmdierks placed 3rd in the 100 meters at 14.77. Sarah also placed 4th in the 400 at 1:08.85. All three girls broke the previous team and age group 400 meter record! Brooke Irons placed 3rd in the 200 at 31.18 and 4th in the 100 meters at 14.94 for a top 4 sweep of the event. Ellie Schaible placed 3rd in the 1600 meters at 6:22.95. Ellie also placed 5th in the 800 meters at 3:02.42 and long jump with a PR of 11’9.5. Regan Reilly was 7th in the 200 (33.29) and 400 meters (1:15.45). Claire Klein (3:06.96), Emma Gravinese (3:08.31), and Annalise Delp (3:22.32) rounded out the top ten in a very competitive 800 meter field. Emma also finished 5th in the 1600 meters (6:51.05).

13-14 boys: Jayden Beluch-Barr placed 1st in the shot-put throwing 33’5. He also placed 8th in the 100 meters at (15.62). Jackson Reever was 2nd in the 400 meters at 1:03.10. Lorenzo Torres-Bonilla finished 3rd in the 800 meters at 2:33.72. Cavilin Kuehler was 5th in the 200 meters (34.11) and had a top 10 finish in 100 meters.

15-16 boys: Nick Raddatti placed 1st in the 400 (55.24) and long jump (18’6.5). He also finished 2nd in the 100 meters at 11.86. All three are team and age group records. Javon Harper was 3rd in the 100 meters (12.20) and 2nd in the long jump (15’9).

The Phoenixville Track club will finish out the regular Spring season at the Suburban Developmental League Championship next Saturday.
