The Phoenixville Track Club participated in our second meet of the season on Saturday at Lower Merion high school and turned in several outstanding performances with many athletes recording personal bests on the track and in the field. The following athletes placed in the top three of their age group and/or broke a team record:
8 and under boys: Logan Meck placed 2nd in the 400 meters setting a new age group record at 1:27.85! Logan also placed 3rd in the 200 meters.
9-10 girls: Ivy Grant finished 2nd in the 100 meters breaking her own age group record at 14.50! Ivy also placed 1st in the long jump and finished 2nd in the 200 meters. Chloe Blackington placed 3rd in the 800 meters and the in the long jump. Lucy Prestia placed 2nd in the long jump to complete the age group sweep in this event. All three girls jumped 10 feet or longer. The 4×100 relay of Gabrielle Williams, Molly Holderbach, Mya Ervin, and Ivy grant set a new age group record at 1:02.50!
9-10 boys: Lucas Klien placed 3rd in the 800 meters.
11-12 girls: Braelyn Jordan placed 1st in the shot put at 20’1, very close to the age group record of 20’5.7. Aryn Epps was 2nd in the shot put.
11-12 boys: Zaiden Bryant placed 1st in the shot put at 28’4.
13-14 girls: Mya Shoemaker placed 1st in the 100 meters (14.11) and 200 meters (29.13). Mya also set a new team and age group record in the long jump at 13’90 becoming our first female long jumper to break the 13 foot mark! Claire Klein placed 1st in the 800 meters at 2:49.66. She was also 3rd in the 1600 meters.
13-14 boys: Connor DeVivo placed 1st in the shot put. Noah Thompson placed 3rd in the 200 meters.
