The Phoenixville Track Club had 33 athletes participate in the Mid-Atlantic AAU District Meet at Coatesville High School over the weekend. Over 1,300 athletes from 57 teams representing the Philadelphia Metro area, Southern New Jersey, Delaware, and Northern Maryland completed to qualify for the Regional Championship meet the weekend of June 27 with only the top 16 in each event moving on. Phoenixville Track Club advanced 28 athletes with multiple runners winning medals, ribbons, and/or setting team records.
Highlights include:
Girls 8 and under – Mya Ervin bested her own age group record in the 100 meters running 17.32 placing 16th to qualify for the Regional meet. Mya also ran an age group record of 37.51 in the 200 meters just missing qualifying in that event and finishing 19th of 53. Keira Hyatt set a new age group record in the 800 meters running 3:33.76 finishing 10th advance to regionals. The 8 and under girls 4×100 relay of Ivy Schilling, Keira Hyatt, Charlotte Orme, Mya Ervin took 1st place winning a gold medal and setting a new age group record in the process!
Girls 9 years old – Ivy Grant had a great meet winning a bronze medal in the 100 meters running a PR of 16.16 and placed 7th in the 200 meters with another PR of 34.84. Gabrielle Williams placed 10th in the 100 meters with a PR of 16.97 and 11th in the 200 meters with a PR of 35.73 to advance in both events. Gabrielle and Ivy also ran on the bronze medal girls 9-10 4×100 relay! Chloe Blackington advanced to the Regional Meet placing 13th.
Girls 10 years old – Aryn Epps placed 8th in the 100 meters resetting her own age group record at 15.25. Aryn also placed 10th in the 200 meters, again resetting her own age group record at 31.84. In addition, Aryn anchored the bronze medal 4×100 relay. Sarah Kuehner just missed advancing in the 100 meters placing 19th with a PR of 16.66. Kennedy Watson ran a season best 1:23.36 in the 400 meters. She was also part of the bronze medal winning girls 9-10 4×100.
Girls 11 years old – Maggie Shaner shattered her own age group record in the 800 meters running 2:46.85 to finish in 8th and advance to the Regional meet. Maggie also ran on the 3rd place 4×400 relay.
Girls 12 years old – Isla Sillup broke her own team and age group record in the 400 meters running 1:05.71 to place 5th. Isla also ran a 1:05.25 split on the 3rd place 4×400 relay. Mya Shoemaker reset her own age group record in the 100 meters running 14.19 in the 100 meters placing 9th. Mya also ran a 1:08.46 split in the 4×400 relay and anchored the bronze medal 4×100 relay! Ellie Schaible placed 4th in the 3000 meters, 10th in the 1500 meters, 12th in the 800 meters with a PR of 2:53.79 to advance in all three events. Clarie Kline placed 7th in the 1500 meters with a PR of 6:03.45 and 15th in the 800 meters to advance in both events. Sarah Harmdierks placed 14th in the 100 meters, was part of the bronze medal 4×100 relay, and the 3rd place 4×400. Brooke Irons placed 16th in the 100 meters to advance to the Regional Meet. She also was part of the bronze medal 4×100 relay along with Regan Reilly who also ran the 100 and 200. Annalise Delp took nearly 9 seconds off of her previous PR in the 800 running 3:01.41 to finish 16th and advance to the Regional Meet. Note that despite the team of Isla Sillup, Sarah Harmdeirks, Maggie Shaner, and Mya Showmaker placing 3rd place in the 4×400 with a time of 4:38.29 they will not advance to the Regional Meet due to an obscure ruling about our girls cheering on their teammates, but that does not diminish their outstanding accomplishment.
Girls 13 years old – Kate Warman broke her own team and age group record running 27.54 winning bronze in the 200 meters. Anna Eichenwald placed 14th in the 100 meters at 14.17 to advance to the Regional meet. Emma Seddiki ran the 100 and 200. All 3 girls were on the girls 13-14 4×100 relay which placed 10th.
Girls 14 years old – Elena O’Neill ran the 100, 200, and was part of the girls 13-14 4×100 relay.
Boys 10 years old – Cameron Hyatt placed 10th in the 800 meters running 2:53.90 and 14th in the 100 meters in 15.30 to advance to the Regional Meet in both events. Karter Latimore ran in the 100 and 200. He also placed 12th in the long jump to advance in that event. Arthur Resch placed 12th in the 1500 meters establishing an age group record in the event at 6:37.77.
Boys 11 years old – Kandrick Latimore placed 12th in 100 meters in 15.51 and 10th in the long jump to advance in both events. Patrick Gail placed 13th in the 100 meters at 15.60 to advance. He also ran the 200 meters.
Boys 13 years old – Jackson Reever placed 5th in the shot put at 25′-10.00″ to advance to the Regional in that event. He also ran the 200 and 400 meters.
Boys 15-16 years old – Nick Raddatti set a new team and age group record in the 100 meters at 11.73 placing 18th of 53 and missing qualifying for Regionals but just .03 seconds. He also set a new team and age group record in the 200 meters placing 20th of 63 at 23.83 missing the qualifying mark by just .10 seconds. Nick also ran the 400 in 55.28.
